Every masterpiece begins with a strong foundation.
At DK Upholstery School of Skill, our current students have successfully completed the frame construction and preparation stage of their Kiddy Chair Project. What started as raw timber has now become a solid, professionally built chair frame—ready for the next exciting phase.
This milestone represents weeks of learning, measuring, cutting, assembling, and developing the precision that every upholsterer needs.
The Next Chapter: Learning to Sew
With the frames complete, our students have now entered the sewing stage of the project.
They are learning essential upholstery sewing skills, including:
- Operating industrial sewing machines.
- Measuring and cutting upholstery fabric.
- Sewing straight and accurate seams.
- Making professional piping (welting).
- Preparing covers for upholstery.
These skills are vital for producing furniture that not only looks beautiful but also meets professional industry standards.
Learning by Doing
At DK Upholstery School of Skill, we believe practical experience is the best teacher.
Instead of only watching demonstrations, every student builds, sews, and upholsters their own furniture project. By the end of the course, they will have completed three real projects and gained the confidence to take on clients or start their own upholstery business.
